Melanie was an intellectual force unlike any I have known. Her amazing insights and understanding around racism and antisemitism provides a voice not readily available on the left. The Breadth of her understanding and the insights in her writings provided an orientation that deeply affected my political world. For a short time, I served on the board of Jews for Racial and Economic Justice and found her an inspiration in my political understandings. She will sorely be missed by all who are concerned with creating a more Just world—this is particularly true at this ugly moment in our history. Thank you, Melanie, for all you have been and all you have inspired.
